1. Andy Kennedy – Goalkeeper
Andy is known as “Facesave” due to his amazing ability to make saves using his face. He’s an excellent shot stopper and has won numerous man of the match wards for his sterling performances, despite being under the kosh at times.
5. James Boggild – Centre Half (VC)
James, or Jim as he’s known to the team, is the teams main defender. An excellent reader of the game and distributor of the ball, he sits at the heart of the team and provides good quality defensive cover. Never backs out of a challenge, and puts himself on the line for the team.
8. Frazer Tomkins – Defensive Midfield
Frazer, otherwise known as Fritz, is the type of player that can run all day, and that’s exactly what he does for the good of the team. An excellent touch, and an eye for goal mean Fritz contributes to both our attacking and defensive aspects.
79. Paul Glover – Midfield (C)
Paul, or “Captain Pat” as the team affectionately call him, is the oldest member of the team. However, with his all action performances, you’d never guess this. He willingly chases every ball down, throwing himself open to injury by never backing out of a challenge. A bit of a “Roy Keane”, never giving the opposition a moments rest.
19. Jon Glover – Midfield
Paul Glovers bruvva from the same muvva. Jon, or “Jon Boy” as the team call him, is another player that can, and will, run all day. Has a lethal shot on him, despite not scoring as many as he would have liked to, rattles the post and cross bar more than anybody else on the pitch! Makes excellent supporting runs forwards, but also does more than his fair share of defensive duties.
11. John Barron – Attack Midfield
John, otherwise known as “JB”, is the teams creative force in the middle. Dribbles the ball with ease and scores plenty of goals. Hasn’t been with the team as long as the others, but settled straight in, and finished top scorer at the end of last season. Has tremendous skill and can score from close range, or rifle in from distance.
10. Mick Weaver – Striker
Mick, also know as “Beaver”, “Michael” or “Mike”, plays the lone striker role to perfection. Can hold the ball up and wait for support, or turn and run at defenders. He has a shoot on sight policy, and this has ensured that he has been the clubs top scorer in every single season to date. He’s strong and quick, and defenders HATE playing against him. He also deputises in goal on occasion, to great effect.
Thanks to Jim for the player profiles.
