Arseton Villa AFC

September 22, 2009

BadgeArseton Villa AFC were established at the beginning of March 2009. A team made up of 7 lads, with ages ranging from early 20′s, to early 30′s. The team was started by a small group of ex-work colleagues that wanted to play footy a bit more regularly for fitness and for fun! That has grown to a bunch of 7 core players that get on well together and have so far achieved, well, not much, but you never know what could happen in the future!!

Arseton Villa 8-4 Q-Stars

September 21, 2009

Arseton Villa produced a fine second half display to pick up their first win of the season overcoming Q-Stars 8-4. This marked a stark contrast to last season when the team struggled in the latter stages of matches. Without their main defender Jim, who is out for a number of weeks with a double arm break, Arseton started off a mess in defence. Runs were not tracked and silly goals were conceded which meant they trailed 4-3 at half time. The team regrouped during the interval and the second half proved a much better team display with Arseton firing in 5 goals to Q-Stars 0. Barron was the pick of the players scoring six goals including a cheeky lob over the opposition keeper. Other scores included Fritz and Hitches, who was covering for the injured Jim and Mick.
